When you are searching for a roofing contractor, keep the following things in mind.
  • Can the Contractor Provide Valid Certificates of Insurance?
Failure to provide adequate insurance coverage may result in the homeowner being held responsible for damages.

  • Can References Be Provided?
Customers should look for current references as well as past references. If all references are recent, it is possible that the contractor has not been in business very long.

  • Can the Contractor Supply Lien Waivers From Suppliers?
Businesses with established relationships and good payment history will be able to provide a lien waiver for materials for projects upon final payment. Suppliers who do not receive payment can legally file liens against your property.

  • Does the Contractor "Bad Mouth" Their Competition?
Established roofing contractors who can offer quality service will not see the need to attack their competitors.

  • Is the Contractor Licensed?
The Local Building Department can verify if the Contractor is licensed.

  • Is the Contractor a Member of A Local Contractors Organization?
    Contact local Trade organizations.
